Literature Text

When I first saw your face.
An image did my mind create.
I beheld a girl of eight.
Wearing a dress of red and yellow lace.

You were running in a maze of green.
At first I thought you were laughing.
Then I heard your crying.
Pursued by others wearing masks obscene.

They trapped you in a hollow.
With bats they beat you most brutal.
Then they would mock you cruel.
I seen your spirit darkness swallow.

At my helplessness tears did I shed.
They grew weary and stopped to dine.
An escape you made wasting little time.
Following the trail from your wrist that bled.

All my hands could do was craft fists.
My wish was that I was there.
To show you that someone does care.
Making all your sorrows vanish like mists.

This was what I had saw.
When I first seen you in a dream.
